Worcester Polytechnic Institute Launches Class of 2015 with Commencement Address from Pioneering Astronaut
The largest graduating class in WPI's history, 1,680 students, received their degrees beneath a large, billowing tent that shielded graduates and well-wishers from the sun that occasionally peeked from behind generally cloudy skies. In all, the Institute awarded 956 bachelor's degrees, 682 master's degrees, and 42 PhDs during its 147th Commencement exercises.

Stonehill Students Launch New Political Society for Women
The Sylvia Donaldson Society was created by students Michelle Wozniak '15 and Michelle Dander '15, both of whom are Political Science & International Studies majors at Stonehill. To help attract more females to careers in public affairs, the student-run Society will sponsor large-scale events, as well as provide small group programs, panels and workshops exclusively for its members.

715 Students Graduate at Assumption College's 97th Commencement
Assumption College's 97th Commencement ceremony was held on May 17 on the campus's H.L. Rocheleau Field, where 463 Bachelor of Arts degrees; 217 graduate studies degrees (Master of Arts and Master of Business Administration) and certificates; and 35 Continuing and Career Education degrees (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science, and associates) were awarded.

A total of 1,193 degrees (794 bachelor's degrees, 381 master's, and 18 PhDs) were awarded during the university's commencement ceremony on May 17, 2014, which took place outdoors on the WPI quadrangle. Additionally, 381 degrees were awarded earlier this academic year.

Local Students Present Research at Assumption College's Undergraduate Symposium
This year, over 80 students presented their work at Assumption College's 20th annual Undergraduate Symposium. The Symposium is a celebration of student research and creative works that provides the campus community with an opportunity to gain a greater appreciation of the individual and collective, intellectual accomplishments of the College's faculty and students from all disciplines, including the humanities, fine arts, biological sciences, physical sciences and social sciences.

Local Students Recognized for Academic Excellence at Assumption College's 30th Honors Annual Convocation
Assumption College honored 67 students with awards for academic excellence on April 14 at the College's 30th Annual Honors Convocation. The ceremony was held on campus in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit. Awards ranged from departmental honors to special subject-specific recognitions, to Augustine Scholarships, the College's highest academic honor.

A total of 50 Stonehill College students will work with 25 faculty members on a variety of research projects this summer through the Stonehill Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program. The program provides students with an opportunity to perform significant, publishable research under the guidance of an experienced faculty researcher.
